This week in the Santa Ynez Valley (September 6)

Welcome back to another week of great entertainment! Here’s what we're most looking forward to, or as always you can click the Events link above for a full schedule of all that’s happening in Santa Ynez, Solvang, Buellton, Los Olivos, and Los Alamos. And be sure to tell your friends about SYV Buzz!

Music and Wine Highlights

Wednesday, September 6

We’re excited about tonight’s show at Maverick featuring Ed Snodderly and Mama’s Broke. This is part of the Tales from the Tavern series pushing Americana and folk, so it’s not your usual Maverick hoedown. We’re looking forward to some great music at this one.

Thursday, September 7

The Les Rose Quartet put on a great show last time they hit Carhartt, and they’re back jazzing it up again from 5 to 7. After that, we might head off to Lost Chord for the folk slash rock of Karl McHugh.

Friday, September 8

It’s an unusually light Friday night on the calendar as far as we can see. High Roller is TBD, which leaves us with just Brick Barn, Maverick, and Lost Chord as our only other options — which are all pretty good (Tu Chez, Rachel Sage, and 33 Thunder, respectively, depending on what we’re in the mood for).

Saturday, September 9

Saturday’s highlights have us torn between opposite ends of the Valley: Just Dave Band is at Vega in Buellton and then way up at Rancho Sisquoc (technically Santa Maria) is Victoria Bailey. Both shows start at noon, and we wish we could be in two places at once.

Sunday, September 10

And finally, we’ll be back at Lost Chord for Hannah Aldridge and special guests The Pleasures for a show they’re describing as Americana, noir indie pop, and raucous, bluesy country-folk — which all sounds right up our alley.
