The Show Must Go On
And Oh, Did It Ever!
A little rain? A last-minute venue switch? No problem. One Night of Queen brought down the house at
Chumash Casino last week, turning an unexpected weather-related location change into a full-throttle celebration of the music and energy of Queen.
Frontman Gary Mullen, celebrated winner of Stars in Their Eyes for his spot-on Freddie Mercury persona, led Gary Mullen & The Works through a powerhouse performance—big vocals, bold theatrics, and all the stomp-stomp-clap energy fans came for.
Alongside Mullen, the band’s lineup—David Brockett on guitar, Jon Halliwell on drums, Alan McGeoch on bass, and Malcolm Gentles on keys—delivered a night worthy of the crown.
A huge thank you to
Solvang Festival Theater and the sponsors who helped make this final performance of the 2025 season one to remember: Visit Santa Ynez Valley, Santa Ynez Valley Band of Chumash Indians, Sanger Family Fund, Whiskey ’n Rye, Noozhawk, Santa Barbara Independent, Rio Vista Chevrolet, Ramsey Asphalt Construction, Green Family, Montecito Bank & Trust, The City of Solvang, Lois & Sunny Brown, Henry & Dundie Schulte, Vinland Hotel & Lounge, and Solomon Hills.
If you didn’t catch this last performance of the season—or if you’ve never stepped foot inside the beloved Solvang Festival Theater—mark your calendar for Saturday, November 29. It’s the perfect excuse to bring the whole family … or send the whole visiting family out for a few hours so you can recover from hosting Thanksgiving!
