This week in the Santa Ynez Valley (September 26)

Another week, another lineup of great music — including our pick of the month for the show we’re most excited about. Read on for that, or just click the big yellow button for our complete list of events.

Music and Wine Highlights

Tonight (Tuesday)

If SYV Buzz can escape our day jobs in time, Brick Barn will be a nice stop on the way home to unwind with a glass and some music from Bill Rotella.

Wednesday, September 27

Tales from the Tavern is hosting another show at Maverick, this time with Darrell Scott. We’re big fans of this Nashville Songwriter Hall of Fame nominee, and we’re really looking forward to this one. It’s a shame that we can’t be in two places at once, though, because another favorite, the Bryan Titus Trio, is playing Lost Chord for the first time — and this would be a great chance to see them up close in such an intimate venue.

Thursday, September 28

Taste of the Santa Ynez Valley kicks off tonight, with food and wine events all over the map. Follow the links for details and highlights.

Friday and Saturday, September 29-30

You’ve got two chances to see violinist Chris Murphy and his smorgasbord of blues, bluegrass, folk, country rock, and gypsy music: he plays Friday at Brick Barn and then again Saturday at Kaena at the Ranch. Also on Saturday over at Four Brothers in Los Olivos, Jacie Lynn Jones will be singing her Central Coast country sounds. And then on Saturday night at Arrowsmith’s, it’s time for some unique indie singer-songwriterness with Shay Moulder. Have fun out there, kids!
