This week in the Santa Ynez Valley (September 13)

Here we are again with another edition of fun times in Santa Ynez, Solvang, Buellton, Los Olivos, and Los Alamos! Harvest time is hitting soon so there are some fun wine events on the schedule — check out the details on our recent visit to Stolpman — and as usual there’s plenty of great music to choose from! Hit the Event link above for a complete list of events, or read on for our favorites.

Music and Wine Highlights

Wednesday, September 13

If it’s still Wednesday when you read this, you’ll find us tonight at Lost Chord for the Faux Paws and their feel-good melting pot folk with a fun mix of instruments — which includes saxophone and Quebecois foot percussion. Don’t miss this one.

Thursday, September 14

Mary Scholz brings her gritty folk singer/songwritering to Lost Chord at 8 pm. Before that, though, you might find us drinking wine, eating hot dogs, and looking at art over at Four Brothers Wine Company in Los Olivos.

Friday, September 15

Friday night were dancing at Maverick again, this time to the country sounds of Runaway. These people take their country dancing seriously.

Saturday, September 16

Saturday is for enjoying wine, this time at Brander’s 47th Harvest Festival and Grape Stomp. There will be traditional Argentine asado barbecue catered by Buena Onda of Santa Barbara and music from Lois Mahalia & The Raw Silk Band.

Sunday and More

After Saturday at Brander, we suspect we’ll just want to spend Sunday recovering at home. But if you’re still ready to go, there’s plenty of entertainment to choose from every day. See our complete calendar for that!
